8月4日 Unbiased Media?I just received the email below and felt it was important enough to pass on. Please read the CTV article mentioned http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20070803/against_pride_flag_080803/20070803?hub=TopStories
and note the mindsets that are expressed in the article... i.e. that not being willing to endorse the gay lifestyle means you are a homophobe or "backward thinking" ("council's ban makes the whole town look discriminatory and backward-thinking"), that this is "a sign of homophobia in a government that should be secular" (when they say "secular" what they're trying to imply is that supporting gay rights is being "unbiased" or "neutral", the reality is just the opposite, they are trying to force THEIR morals on us) and that the gay rights activists are portrayed as victims that have been wronged ("the rejection made them feel ostracized and unwelcome"). Maybe your reaction is "What can I do about this?" I'm here to tell you there ARE things you can do:

The Mayor of Truro, Nova Scotia has refused to fly a homosexual flag at City Hall for a "pride event" in the name of his Christian Values. He is obviously getting a lot of flak. Please write the Mayor an email and congratulate him for standing up for family values: It does not have to be long-- just a short paragraph is sufficient. Then go to the CTV website and click on "feedback" at the bottom of the story. Tell CTV the story was biased-- they did not have one citizen in the story to say that the mayor did the right thing-- and that in a small community in Nova Scotia. That's not believeable. Please write the mayor. The Mayor will probably need this ammunition. If you have a blog, please blog about it. Please spread this to as many people as possible. 11月10日 Municipal Election Time... Don't Know Who To Vote For?If you're anything like me you find it a little bit overwhelming when you're faced with not one, not two, but up to FIVE categories to vote for in our upcoming municipal elections. No wonder like only 30% of people vote... which just means that those who care enough to mark their ballot just have MORE of a chance to make a difference in our community.
So:
Now, you may be thinking "What does the pro-marriage debate have to do with a municipal election?" Well, for one thing, moral viewpoint has ALOT to do with electing our school board trustees, these people decide what they will be teaching our kids is to be viewed as acceptable in our society. And, secondly, in my own personal opinion, an individual who is willinng to take a strong stand on a tough issue based on moral convictions, often is a Christian and I think they probably have a good deal of integrity and will make a strong leader.
I hope you find this information helpful as you decide who to elect in our community. Please pass this information on to anyone you feel might be interested in taking it into account when they mark their ballot.
***If you are not registered to vote: Just go to a polling station on Monday (the 13th) and bring with you a piece of ID that has your picture and signature on it and a document with your current address.

5月5日 It’s time… To raise “The Cry” 2 Him!The Call… National Prayer Gathering in Ottawa. Calling a generation to arise and take the nation. As many of you already know, I am involved in a non-partisan Christian political youth organization called MY Canada (Motivated Young People for a Strong Canada). MY Canada, together with the National House of Prayer, is spearheading a national, youth-focused (but not "youth-exclusive") day of prayer and worship on Parliament Hill called the "Cry 2" on July 15, 2006, to cry out to God on behalf of our country for the fullness of His dominion to come in our generation. Speakers/worship leaders include: Steve Osmond (Tehilla Monday), James and Looee Arreak (featured on Transformations II video), and Laura Woodley. I wanted to let you know about this momentous event because I feel that God will move very strongly as a result of our "Cry 2" Him on that day, and I want to give you the chance to be apart of this “History Making” Cry.

2月12日 MY Canada Seige/NHOP March Break WeekWhat an AWESOME way to spend your March Break! See you on the Hill... Check out the late-breaking news from MY Canada... they're doing a week of prayer in Ottawa for Canada... calling all young people... this is gonna go way beyond folding your hands and kneeling beside your bed (not that there's anything at all wrong with that). We're talking this is probably going to involve teaching in hard-core intercession from people who really know what they're talking about as well as guided tours of the parliament buildings, opportunities to watch the House in session LIVE, maybe we'll even meet the new Prime Minister (just kidding, well, you never know, it could happen, we might at least meet and/or pray for/with some MP's and/or Senators, who knows). "Get a Life! Ontario" is a pro-life youth conference in Guelph,
Ontario on Friday, March 31 in the evening and Saturday, April 1 all
day long. It's being held at the Guelph Bible Conference Centre with
optional overnight accomodations.
Featuring Michael Coren, Senator Anne Cools, the McMaster student
group "Lifeliene," Dr. Deborah Zeni (on "Abortion - The untold story of
women's health"), Natalie Hudson, with music by David McDonald (of
Critical Mass??). Final closing banquet on Saturday night.
The cost is $35 for Saturday only, $50 for entire conference, or $100 including accomodations (with chaperone).
